The Store:
It all began with an idea Theresa had and evolved as time went on.
Theresa knew it was becoming too much to be full time at the store and
manage five children. So she searched for partners. Four new
partners came in to split time, effort, and ideas. Due to career changes
and personal commitments two partners moved on. Today Keith, Theresa,
and Kathy have a strong working relationship. A few disputes over
what should go where, but at the end they all compromise and end up with
positive results.
The store has gone through a few transitions of its own. The
location originated on Eagle Street, and tripled in size when moving to
Main Street. The new location has more walking traffic, much better
storage, along with allowing room for many more crafters.
Ninety percent of the store is handmade by crafters and artists.
We do offer a small amount of wholesale domestic and imported products
that we can't find from crafters. These items are to compliment
crafter's merchandise.
Due to crafters changing products and some leaving while others
coming, makes the store an ever changing environment. The windows
change on a monthly basis, and the inside has changes every time a
customer returns. This is to keep the store fresh and product
moving.

The photo is Main Street, North Adams in 1937. The red dot is
where our store is located today. The Empire Building has much history
over the past century. Up until the 60s the lobby to the Paramount Theater
was two doors down, which is now Milan Restaurant at 55 Main Street.
Crafty Creation Owners:
Theresa Denault, Keith Bona and Kathy West.
Partners:
Keith Bona:
Married to Anne-Marie with their two children.
His oldest son AJ helps out a lot at the store. Keith owns another full time business,
but enjoys coming to the store to
get out from behind the computer to meet customers. He admires most
crafts, but spends his time doing computer graphics, printing and
marketing, along with teaching at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
He also spends a lot of time
with the local Elks Lodge as a past president.
Theresa Denault: Mother of five children 7-17 (Yikes!).
Enjoys painting woodwork, stenciling and primitive crafts. Her husband Mike says
their house looks like the store. Every time a new crafter comes in
Theresa is the first to buy an item. Besides driving the family to
basketball games and birthday parties she helps her husband with his
family's machine shop as an office administrator.
Kathy West: A semi-retired school speech therapist enjoys sewing,
knitting,
and penny rug crafts very much, but loves spoiling her family -
especially the grandchildren even more. We can't forget her cocker
spaniel Casey. If she's not in the store, she is usually gardening or
shopping with her grand-daughter or watching he play sports, visiting her grandson in Florida or on
road trips looking for new ideas.
